Ciara McCarthy

Ciara McCarthy is a seasoned reporter with extensive experience in journalism, currently serving at Fort Worth Star-Telegram since June 2021 and Victoria Advocate since June 2018. Prior reporting roles include a position at Patch.com from February 2017 to June 2018 and serving as a researcher for Guardian News & Media from August 2015 to January 2017, where Ciara contributed to The Counted project tracking police-related fatalities. Additional experience includes editing as Editor in Chief of The Daily Northwestern, recognized for excellence in student journalism, and internships at The Marshall Project and Slate Magazine. Ciara holds a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Northwestern University, earned in 2015.
