Sumeer Koirala

Sumeer Koirala is a Geospatial Data Scientist at VIDA since January 2023 and has served as the Chief Survey Officer at the Survey Department of Nepal since February 2020. Sumeer held a Hiwi position at the Technical University of Munich from December 2022 to May 2023, focusing on the impact of land-use/land-cover heterogeneity on biodiversity in agricultural landscapes. Previous roles include Lecturer at the Himalayan College of Geomatics Engineering and Land Resource Management from March 2021 to March 2022 and Survey Officer (Geomatics Engineer) at the Survey Department of Nepal from August 2014 to February 2020. Sumeer's career began as a Technical Specialist at Soyan Megasoft Pvt Ltd from September 2013 to September 2014. Sumeer holds multiple degrees, including a Master of Science in Land Management and Geospatial Planning from the Technical University of Munich, a Master's degree in Geographic Information Science and Cartography from Paris Lodron Universität Salzburg, and a Bachelor's degree in Geomatics Engineering from Kathmandu University.
