Princess Kabeya began their work experience in 2015 as a Graphic Design Intern at Triggerfish Animation Studios. During their time there, they worked closely with the Development Producer and Concept Team, conceptualizing and designing assets such as collateral material, corporate identity, and marketing content. Princess also assisted the Creative Director and Senior Graphic Designer in creating branding assets and worked with the Cape Town International Animation Festival to help with branding and social media content. In 2016, they moved on to become a Digital Designer at Geist.Agency, where they assisted the Lead Editor and Creative Director in producing explainer videos and branding assets. In 2018, they began working as a Freelance Motion Designer for Vidsy, creating social media content and branding for their numerous clients, including well-known brands such as Lancôme, L'Oréal, and Kelloggs. In 2021, they became a Student Volunteer at the Cape Town International Animation Festival, managing and supervising volunteers and working closely with the directing team to ensure the festival ran smoothly. Princess also completed internships at Studio Bolland and We Are Batch, working closely with experienced animators and creative directors to gain knowledge on the animation and design process in a remote collaborative setting.
Princess Kabeya has a diverse educational background. Princess attended Lycée Kabambare from 2004 to 2011 for their Junior High School and High School education. Princess then went on to Abbotts Colleges from 2011 to 2012 to obtain their National Senior Certificate. After that, they studied Graphic Design at the AAA School of Advertising from 2013 to 2015, where they earned their Bachelor of Arts - BA. Finally, they graduated with a Bachelor of Arts - BA in Animation and Motion Design from SAE Institute South Africa in 2021.
