Ryan Howk

Ryan Howk has over 14 years of experience in data integration. Ryan began their career in 2006 as a Senior Solution Delivery Consultant at Cerner Corporation. Ryan then moved to Ascension Health in 2008 as a Solution Development Analyst. In 2010, they became an HL7 Integration Implementation Engineer at e-MDs. From 2012 to 2014, they were a Data Integration Consultant at TEKsystems, where they designed and developed Healthcare Information Exchange (HIE) with Mirth Connect (JavaScript), Mirth Match (HTTP POST), and SQL Server. Ryan also configured Mirth Match (Enterprise Master Patient Index) and integrated with SQL Server and Mirth Connect. In 2014, they became a Data Integration Engineer at The Advisory Board Company. Ryan then moved to Community Health Systems in 2017 as a Data Integration Consultant. In 2018, they became a Data Integration Analyst/Developer at WebPT. From 2019 to 2020, they were a Data Integration Developer/Consultant at CRISP - Chesapeake Regional Information System for our Patients, where they developed COVID-19 lab results data interfaces/algorithms for sharing between Maryland Dept of Health, CDC NEDSS, with Johns Hopkins Hospital as pilot. Ryan also wrote a JavaScript algorithm to prevent positive antibody lab results from displaying as positive COVID-19 result. In 2020, they became a Software Engineer (EDI/HL7) at Olive. Ryan is currently a Data Integration Engineer at VieCure.

Ryan Howk obtained a Bachelor of Science in Management / Computer Information Systems from DeVry University between 2001 and 2004. In 2017, they completed a Professional Web Design and Management Certificate from Web Courses Bangkok. In June 2020, they obtained an Intro to FHIR Course from HL7 Starter School. Ryan also holds a Professional Web Design and Management Certificate from Web Courses Bangkok and a Cerner Delivery Consultant Certificate from Cerner Corporation.
