Geoffrey Landis

VP of Research at Vigilant Biosciences

Geoffrey Landis has a diverse range of work experience, spanning various roles and industries. Geoffrey is currently serving as the VP of Research at Vigilant Biosciences, Inc. since 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of VP of Bioscience at Local Urban Vegetables LLLC from 2018 to 2022, where they were responsible for the design and development of a multi-electrochemical sensor array system and software package for real-time monitoring of nutrients in agriculture systems. Geoffrey also established a plant tissue culture lab for cloning cannabis plants and invented an automated polymer dispenser for vertical plant growth.

From 2013 to 2021, Geoffrey worked at Biosensors, serving as the Project Chair/Scientific Advisor. In this role, they directed research projects for Cal State San Marcos Masters Interns and supervised projects such as scarification of spinach and developing a device for self-monitoring of progesterone during in-vitro fertilization.

Prior to their roles in bioscience, Geoffrey gained experience in healthcare and scientific research. Geoffrey worked at Scripps Health from 2013 to 2018, initially as an Access Representative and later as COORD, PT RELATIONS/RISK MGMT. Geoffrey was also a Principle Investigator at Seacoast Science from 2012 to 2015, leading clinical trials for non-lethal malodorant weapons and overseeing the construction of an advanced chemical sensor and behavior study room.

Additionally, Geoffrey served as a Scientist and Industrial Advisor at Seacoast Science in 2013, providing guidance to master's students in the development of prototype devices for nutrient monitoring and pollen growth cell. Geoffrey co-founded L&H Diagnostics in 2011 and contributed to the development of lab-on-a-chip biometric biosensors at Hemometrics from 2009 to 2010.

Earlier in their career, Geoffrey worked as the Director of Fabrication at Medivas from 2004 to 2009, overseeing the delivery of polymer nanoparticle therapeutics. Geoffrey also served as a Project Leader at MCL from 2003 to 2004.
