Elisa Lopez Varela M.D.

Elisa Lopez Varela MD, PhD is currently serving as the Global Medical Affairs Director of Paediatrics at ViiV Healthcare. Elisa has a strong background in pediatric infectious diseases, with experience as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Stellenbosch University and a Medical Research Fellow at various institutions including ISGlobal and CISM. Elisa's educational background includes a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, a Master of Public Health from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and a Doctor of Philosophy in translational medicine from Universitat de Barcelona. In addition, Elisa has contributed to research in areas such as TB, HIV, women's health, and gynecology throughout their career.
