Simon Thorpe has a varied work experience in the food industry. Simon started their career as a graduate at Kraft Jacobs Suchard in 1995 and then worked as a Site Night Shift Manager at Evesham Foods from 1998 to 2000. Simon joined Park Cake Bakeries in 2007 and held several roles including Lean Manufacturing Manager, Commercial Manager, Operations Manager, Supply Chain Manager, and finally, Head of Manufacturing from 2011 to 2013. Simon then became the General Manager at Yorkshire Baker (Cranswick PLC) in 2013. Thorpe's most recent position was at The Village Bakery Group where they worked as Operations Manager from 2014 to 2015 and then transitioned to the role of Operations Director.

Simon Thorpe attended the University of Bradford from 1994 to 1998, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) degree. The specific field of study is not provided.
