Village of Wilmette
Kate Amoruso is currently the Assistant to the Director of Public Works at Village of Wilmette. Prior to that, they worked as a Landscape Architecture Intern at Chalet from May 2010 to August 2010 where they gained valuable real world experience from working in all areas of the company, including maintenance, construction, retail, and design. Kate completed surveys, color renderings and original designs, and drew up plans for the landscape architects. Kate also assisted in planting, installing drainage systems, and constructing limestone retaining walls and a bluestone walkway. In addition, Kate designed and planted seasonal containers and participated in client meetings at all phases of a project. Kate used their photography skills to photograph the Chalet farm for future advertising and informational material. Prior to working at Chalet, Kate was the Assistant Manager and Head Lifeguard at Glenview Park District from May 2003 to September 2009.
Kate Amoruso attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they earned a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture. Kate also attended Glenbrook South High School. Kate has certification from the Illinois Department of Agriculture in Illinois Pesticide Operator License and from the Intergovernmental Risk Management Agency (IRMA) in OSHA General Industry Safety and Health.
