Derek Buitenhuis

Derek Buitenhuis is a Senior Principal Video Encoding Engineer at Vimeo since May 2012. Derek designed and implemented the transcoding framework for the site and contributed to AV1/AOM. Prior to Vimeo, Derek worked as a Linux Engineer at Wind River Systems from January 2011 to September 2011, focusing on fixing and extending cross-build systems. Derek graduated with a HBSc in Computer Science from Lakehead University in 2013.
