Robert Serena

Robert Serena is the SVP of APAC at Vimond Media Solutions. Prior to this, they were the Manager of Television at Optus from February 2011 to March 2017. In this role, they were responsible for leading the TV and Video product team, maintaining P&L and capital management responsibility for the key product portfolios of Fetch, Premier League and Optus TV featuring Foxtel.

Some of their key responsibility areas for the team included: business ownership of the IPTV program maintaining and managing the content distribution network for Optus, full online ordering, provisioning and integration with Optus core systems; product management of Fetch with delivery of regular new product innovations to the customer base including subscription VOD packages, personalised movie recommendations, a mobile companion application, catch-up television services, Netflix and STAN and the 3rd generation and Mini set-top box; with the outcome whilst there that the product was comfortably Optus’ largest television and video service; product lead for the delivery of the Optus Sport product across iOS, Android, Web and Fetch platforms including the underlying video platform delivering the Premier League via OTT and IP platforms. Working with a team of UX Specialists, Designers, Developers, Engineers and Testers to deliver a highly rated application and video experience; management of the Optus TV featuring Foxtel product line ensuring subscriber levels are maintained whilst managing regular pricing and channel changes to completion of the existing contract term.

Robert Serena received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Industrial Relations from UNSW.
