Ian Burke Iciob

Ian Burke is an experienced construction professional with over 13 years of work experience. Ian has held various roles at different companies, starting with Balfour Beatty in 2008 as a Package Manager/Site Manager. Ian then progressed to the role of Site Manager at Balfour Beatty Construction from 2010 to 2011, where they were responsible for the successful delivery of civil engineering/construction projects.

In 2011, Ian joined Balfour Beatty Construction Northern as a Site Manager, overseeing the internal fit-out of a new school build. Ian was also responsible for the demolition of existing buildings and completion of ground works.

Ian continued to advance their career, joining Balfour Beatty Construction in 2012 as a Construction Manager. In this role, they constructed a new Women's and Children's wing, including various departments and external works such as a new carpark and helipad.

In 2014, Ian worked as a Project Manager at The GB Group and Carillion Plc, followed by a role as Project Manager at Galliford Try plc from 2017 to 2018. During this time, they gained experience in project management and oversaw the successful completion of projects.

Ian then joined Mace in 2018, where they held the positions of Senior Manager and later Associate Director. Ian contributed to the company's projects until 2022.

In 2022, Ian joined Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd as a Project Director, where they continued to oversee projects until 2023.

Finally, in 2023, Ian secured a role as a Project Director at VINCI Construction, where they are currently working.

Ian Burke ICIOB completed their education in various fields. Ian attended Leeds College of Building from 2010 to 2011, where they completed the EPA Course for Membership to CIOB, focusing on Construction Management, Health and Safety, and Contract and Commercial Practice. Prior to that, they attended Stockport College of Building from 1992 to 1995, earning an H.N.C., Ph2a, and Ph2b in Civil Engineering. Ian also obtained a City and Guilds certification in Horticulture from Wythenshawe College from 1984 to 1987. Additionally, they received a general education at High School Education from 1979 to 1984 and Our Ladies High School, where they obtained C.S.E's. Ian Burke ICIOB also holds a certification in First Aid at Work obtained from St John Ambulance in September 2015.
