Girish Kumar

Girish Kumar is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in manufacturing engineering within the automotive industry. Currently serving as the Director of Manufacturing Engineering for VINFAST, Girish is instrumental in establishing new automotive paint plants globally to support the electric vehicle revolution. Previously, as General Manager at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited, Girish successfully led plant strategy initiatives and mentored leadership teams while transitioning operations from Ford to Tata platforms. With a long tenure at Ford Motor Company, Girish demonstrated expertise in operations management, world-class manufacturing, and quality management, achieving significant improvements in productivity and cost efficiency. Earlier career roles include key positions at Hyundai Motor India Ltd. and Asian Paints, where Girish focused on paint engineering, production processes, and research and development. Girish holds an Engineer’s Degree in Paint Technology from UDCT, Mumbai, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from Kerala University.
