Erik Shallman

Erik Shallman is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in patent and antitrust litigation. Currently serving as Counsel at Vinson & Elkins since December 2018, Erik has held positions as Senior Associate and Associate within the same firm. Prior to this role, Erik worked as an Associate at WilmerHale from November 2014 to July 2017, where responsibilities included litigating complex cases across various federal jurisdictions and participating in all facets of litigation. Erik's earlier experience includes serving as a Summer Associate at WilmerHale and as a Graduate Assistant at the University of San Francisco School of Management, where Erik developed a business analytics course. Erik holds a JD in Intellectual Property Law and an MBA from the University of San Francisco, as well as dual Bachelor's degrees in Materials Science and Engineering and Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Idaho. Erik's unique interdisciplinary background is further complemented by prior work as a Materials Engineer at Washington River Protection Solutions, focusing on the integrity of nuclear waste storage tanks.
