Mimmi Ballard

Mimmi Ballard has over 14 years of experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. Mimmi is currently employed as the Director of Analytical Development and Quality Control, Bioassays at Vir Biotechnology, Inc. Prior to this, they worked as a Group Lead for Cell Based Assays at Sana Biotechnology, Inc. and as a Scientist II at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. Mimmi also held managerial roles at AbbVie and Stemcentrx, Inc. Mimmi'sresearch experience includes serving as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UC Santa Cruz and obtaining a Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Additionally, they have previous experience as a Research Associate at Genentech and has worked as a retail assistant and laboratory assistant early in their career. Mimmi has expertise in developing and optimizing bioassays, analyzing protein activities, and conducting cell-based potency methods.

Mimmi Ballard completed their Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at UC Irvine from 2003 to 2006. Mimmi then went on to pursue a Ph.D. at the University of California, Santa Cruz from 2009 to 2015 in the field of Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology, specializing in Stem Cell Biology.
