Alan Cain has extensive experience in the aviation industry, currently serving as the Manager of Outsourced Base Maintenance at Virgin Atlantic since May 2000. In this role, responsibilities include managing PART M oversight to ensure continued airworthiness, auditing service providers for compliance, and improving cost management while adhering to budget and service level agreements. Alan also leads teams across Asia, Southeast Asia, and Europe and interfaces with lessors for aircraft returns. Previously, Alan held various positions at Virgin Atlantic, including Engineer in Technical Operations, Check Manager, and B2/C Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, with expertise in multiple aircraft types including Airbus A340 and Boeing 787. Prior to joining Virgin Atlantic, Alan served as an Avionics Engineer in the Royal Air Force from 1984 to 2000. Alan holds a Higher National Certificate in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Leeds Metropolitan University.
