Chris Berg

Chris Berg is an experienced sustainability professional currently serving as the Assistant Division Administrator and Director of Sustainability at the Virginia Department of Transportation, focusing on decarbonization, resilience, and land stewardship to advance the Commonwealth's sustainability agenda toward achieving a Net-Zero 2045 goal. Prior roles include Sustainability Manager and Site Lead at KT CONSULTING, where management of a 14-person contract team supported the Army National Guard’s sustainability efforts, and Sustainability Analyst at KAPUR ENERGY ENVIRONMENT ECONOMICS, LLC, providing support to the Army National Guard's sustainability initiatives and conducting energy and water audits for federal agencies. Earlier experience includes roles in program evaluation and stakeholder engagement with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, administrative support at the College of Charleston, research at the European Parliament, and data assistance at Furman University. Chris holds a Master’s Degree in Environmental Studies and Public Administration and has additional qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning.
