Sanhita Lahiri

Sanhita Lahiri is a seasoned professional in traffic engineering, currently serving as a Member of the Standing Committee on Traffic Flow Theory, Models, and Simulation at the Transportation Research Board since August 2025 and as a Data and System Analysis Manager at VDOT since July 2012. With a strong focus on promoting effective analysis of traffic networks to enhance safety and reduce delays, Sanhita leads statewide policy development in this domain. Prior experience includes serving as Acting District Traffic Engineer and Cochair of the Standing Committee on Traffic Simulation at the Transportation Research Board from August 2020 to May 2025, along with a decade-long tenure as Senior Engineer II at Atkins, where project management and technical expertise were emphasized. Sanhita's career began as a Transportation Engineer and Research Assistant, supported by a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from Florida International University and a Bachelor's degree from The Institution of Engineers.
