James Santos

James Santos is an accomplished lead organizer with extensive experience in labor and community organizing, currently serving at the Virginia Education Association since March 2021. In this role, James conceptualizes comprehensive campaign plans, manages a team of organizers, and fosters a strong base of member leaders advocating for significant changes within the school district. Prior to this, James worked as a national organizer and campaign lead for the Communication Workers of America, implementing major organizing campaigns. James also served as the external affairs manager for the Office of the Bronx District Attorney, focusing on community engagement strategies in under-resourced neighborhoods, and held various roles at the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, managing membership dues and participating in labor campaigns. An education from Hunter College culminated in a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government.
