Shawn Brown

Shawn Brown, CAP, currently serves as an Event Planner and HR Coordinator at the Virginia Education Association since December 2024. Prior experience includes roles as a Project & Event Coordinator at the Medical Society of Virginia from June 2023 to March 2024 and as an Administrative Coordinator at the United Network for Organ Sharing from January 2020 to July 2023. Additionally, Shawn worked as a Cycle Instructor at Gold's Gym & Crunch Gym from March 2015 to July 2023, focusing on empowering others to achieve their physical and mental goals. As Workforce Solutions Manager at the Virginia Manufacturers Association from September 2015 to January 2020, Shawn managed projects such as Dream It Do It Virginia and partnered on workforce initiatives. Before that, a long tenure at the American Cancer Society from October 1991 to 2011 involved fundraising and supporting cancer survivors and their families. Education is derived from life experiences, viewed as the best teacher.
