Mark Higgins

Director Of Motor Carrier Experience at Virginia International Terminals, LLC

Mark Higgins has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Mark started their career in 2004 as a Systems Administrator at Bay Electric Co., Inc. After a year, they joined APM Terminals as an Assistant Operations Manager and then took on the role of Senior Assistant Operations Manager- Automation. During their time at APM Terminals, Mark was involved in significant projects, such as being a project team member for the first Automated Marine Terminal in the US and developing training programs and standard operation procedures. In 2010, Mark transitioned to The Port of Virginia, where they held multiple roles, including Manager of Network Engineering, Project Manager of Gate Automation, General Manager of Planning and Automation, and, most recently, Director of Motor Carrier Experience. Mark'sexpertise and experience span various areas, including automation, network engineering, and motor carrier operations.

Mark Higgins attended Old Dominion University from 2021 to 2022, where they pursued studies in Intercultural/Multicultural and Diversity Studies. Previously, from 1999 to 2003, they attended Louisiana State University, where they obtained a degree in Information Systems and Decision Science with a specialization in Management of Information Systems.
