Joel Taubman

Joel Taubman is an experienced legal professional currently serving as an Assistant Attorney General in the Office of Civil Rights at the Virginia Office of the Attorney General since August 2023. Previous roles include Associate Member for the International Law in Domestic Courts Journal and JIGSAW Fellow at The Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law. Additionally, Joel has held positions such as Student Attorney at The Jacob Burns Community Legal Clinics at The George Washington University Law School, Summer Law Clerk at Lewin & Lewin, and Judicial Intern at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Prior to transitioning to law, Joel worked in engineering roles, including Zoning Project Manager and Tower Structural Analyst at Crown Castle. Joel holds a Doctor of Law (JD) with a concentration in International and Comparative Law from The George Washington University Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the University of Virginia.
