Allison Smith

Allison Smith currently serves as the Civic Engagement Coordinator for Virginia Opera since July 2023. Prior experience includes working as a Research Assistant at Boston University from August 2017 to July 2023 and as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at both the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Smith College. Additional roles include a Music Library Intern at New England Public Radio and an intern with the Smithsonian Institution, where responsibilities involved clerical work and conducting interviews. Education includes a PhD in Musicology and Ethnomusicology from Boston University, a Master of Music in Historical Musicology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from the University of Mary Washington.
