Laura Murray

Laura Murray has extensive legal experience, primarily in the real estate industry. Laura most recently worked at Virginia REALTORS as the General Counsel, where they provided legal guidance to the CEO, Leadership, and Board of Directors. Prior to that, they held multiple roles at Virginia REALTORS, including Vice President of Legal Operations / Deputy General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel. In these positions, they supervised a staff of attorneys, oversaw member-facing legal services, taught training courses, and wrote articles on legal topics. Before joining Virginia REALTORS, Laura worked as a Staff Attorney at Northern Virginia Association of Realtors, where they reviewed contracts and provided legal guidance. Laura also gained legal experience as a Law Clerk at NVAR - Northern Virginia Association of REALTORS and as a Legal Intern at the Metropolitan Police Department. In addition, they worked as a Summer Law Clerk at Hyman, Phelps & McNamara, P.C., and as a Legal Assistant at the same firm. Laura's earlier experience includes working as a PAC Assistant and Research Assistant at Koch Industries.

Laura Murray earned their J.D. degree in Regulatory Law from George Mason University - Antonin Scalia Law School, where they studied from 2008 to 2011. Earlier, they completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland from 1998 to 2004, earning a BA in Government & Politics. In addition to their formal education, Laura has obtained certifications including an In-House Counsel Certification from the Association of Corporate Counsel in April 2021, and an At Home With Diversity certification from the National Association of REALTORS® in March 2021.
