Carole McPhillips

Carole McPhillips has over three decades of experience in the field of contracts and grants management. Carole currently holds the position of Director of Contracts and Grants at VIPC | Virginia Innovation Partnership Corporation since September 2020. Prior to this, Carole served as the Director of Contracts at the National Institute of Aerospace for four years, from October 2016 to September 2020. Carole'sprevious roles include Deputy Contracts Manager at the National Institute of Aerospace (2012-2016), Contracts Administrator at VSD, LLC (2011-2012), and Manager of Sponsored Programs at Old Dominion University Research Foundation (2009-2011). Carole also has experience as a Contracts and Grants Administrator/Assistant Project Manager at the University of Delaware (1999-2009), Grants Administrator at Old Dominion University (1991-1999), and Research Secretary at Old Dominion University Research Foundation (1987-1991).

Carole McPhillips holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management from the University of Delaware, which they completed from 2005 to 2008. Carole also has a Career Studies Certificate in Acquisition and Procurement from Tidewater Community College and an Associate of Arts and Sciences (A.A.S.) degree from Old Dominion University. In addition, Carole McPhillips has obtained a certification from VC University ONLINE in 2021.
