Jean-Simon Diallo has a diverse work experience in the fields of biotech and academia. Jean-Simon is currently the CEO and Scientific Founder of Virica Biotech since December 2018. Prior to this role, they served as an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Immunology at the University of Ottawa starting from March 2013. Jean-Simon also worked as a Senior Scientist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute since 2012. Before that, Jean-Simon worked as a Director at ChemVirion from December 2009. Following their M.Sc, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) degree in Molecular Biology from the Université de Montréal from 2003 to 2007.
After completing their Ph.D, they undertook a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Ottawa, focusing on the field of oncolytic viruses. The duration of this fellowship is not specified.
