Leon de Waal

Leon de Waal is an experienced professional in the field of virology and preclinical research. Currently serving as the Manager of Preclinical Services at Viroclinics Biosciences BV since July 2009, Leon de Waal is responsible for initiating, conducting, and reporting on preclinical studies. Prior to this role, Leon de Waal completed a PhD at Erasmus MC in the Department of Virology, focusing on the genomics of respiratory infections and virus-host interactions. The PhD thesis centered on anti-viral immunity in humans and macaques in the context of Respiratory Syncytial Virus infections. Leon de Waal holds a Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences from Leiden University, obtained between 1993 and 1998.
