Senior Global Public Relations Lead at Virtuagym

Joe Baker has a wealth of experience in the sports and media industry. Joe began their career in 2012 as a Freelance Sports Writer and Marketing, Sales and Editorial Assistant for Sport Lived Ltd. In 2015, they joined Hill+Knowlton Strategies as a Sports Sponsorship and Marketing Assistant and also began freelancing for GiveMeSport as a Writer. Later that year, they joined Ruder Finn UK as a Junior Account Executive, then moving up to Account Executive. In 2016, they joined M&C Saatchi PR as a Senior Account Executive, where they were responsible for corporate profiling, press release and by-line writing, and developing and driving change perception campaigns. In 2019, they joined CSM Sport & Entertainment as a Communications Manager and was unfortunately made redundant in 2020 due to COVID-19. Since then, they have been working as a Global Public Relations Manager and Public Relations Manager for Virtuagym, an Editor for The Oranje, and a Freelance Public Relations Consultant for Proactive International PR. Joe has also been a Freelance Writer and Content Planner for SportsTech Match, focusing on sponsorship and fan engagement/activation.

Joe Baker attended the University of Nottingham from 2009 to 2013 where they obtained a History BA Honours degree in 2009 and a History Masters MA degree in 2013. Prior to this, they attended De Lisle College from 2002 to 2009, where they obtained A-Levels and GCSEs.
