Max Horn CFA, CAIA has extensive experience in the investment industry. Max currently holds the position of Head of Risk & Performance and Co-head of Quantitative Research at Virtus Investment Partners, a role they began in January 2022. Prior to this, Max worked at Stone Harbor Investment Partners for over 15 years, starting in April 2006. During their time at Stone Harbor, they served as the Head of Quantitative Research until December 2021.

Max Horn CFA, CAIA has a strong educational background in both finance and science. Max obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry from the University of Sydney, where they studied from 1991 to 1995. Following this, they pursued further education at the NYU Stern School of Business, where they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Accounting and Finance from 2001 to 2004.

In addition to their academic achievements, Max Horn has obtained several professional certifications to enhance their expertise in the field of finance. Max became a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) in August 2001, earning this prestigious designation from the CFA Institute. In November 2020, they achieved the CAIA Charterholder certification from the CAIA Association. Most recently, in October 2021, Max Horn obtained a Certificate in ESG Investing from CFA UK.
