Eng. Dido Lumanyika

Head of Utility Operations at Virunga Power at Virunga Power

Eng. Dido Lumanyika has a wealth of experience in the electrical engineering field. Eng. Dido began their career in 2008 as a Teaching Assistant and Hardware Developer at UMKC. In 2011, they took on the role of Research Analyst at Robb & Robb. In 2012, they joined Burns & McDonnell as an Electrical Engineer, where they were responsible for designing a wide variety of substations ranging from 13.8-kV to 500-kV. Eng. Dido also took on the role of Transmission Planner. In 2017, they became the Group Systems Planner & Distribution Manager at Industrial Promotion Services (IPS) Kenya, and also the Chief Executive Officer at West Nile Rural Electrification Company Limited. In 2020, they were appointed as the Head of Utility Operations at Virunga Power.

Eng. Dido Lumanyika graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2007. Eng. Dido then returned to the University of Missouri-Kansas City to pursue a Master of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, which they completed in 2015.
