Cathy Cartier currently serves as the President & CEO and Chief Marketing Officer at Visit SLO CAL since May 2021. Prior to this role, Cartier worked as a Strategic Advisor at Cult Collective LP from June 2019 to May 2021 and as President of Cartier Global Strategies between April 2019 and May 2021. From 2005 to 2019, Cartier held significant positions at the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, including Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President of Strategic Planning. Earlier experience includes the role of Vice President of Administration at Medicwest Ambulance from 2000 to 2005. Cathy Cartier holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from St. Bonaventure University and an Associate's Degree in Journalism from the State University of New York at Morresville.

Its goal is to promote San Luis Obispo County through marketing, advertising, public relations, group sales, promotions, events and sponsorship branding the region as a choice destination for regional, national and international travelers alike. Visit SLO CAL works in partnership with tourism industry-related businesses including lodging properties, restaurants, wineries, activities, golf courses and retail stores to create a unified marketing approach that promotes the Culinary, Coastal and Cultural assets of the County.
