Jeff Russell

Jeff Russell is the current Managing Director at Vista Equity Partners. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Operating Officer at Juma Ventures from June 2008 to June 2011. In this role, they were responsible for the design and implementation of all organization-wide goals and objectives for a $3.7 million nonprofit organization that is widely recognized as a leading youth development and social enterprise program. Jeff was also responsible for development and implementation of fiscal and risk management policies, procedures, controls and reporting.

Before their time at Juma Ventures, Jeff Russell served as the President of Mirant California LLC from June 2006 to November 2007. In this role, they were responsible for maximizing the value of all Mirant's assets within California, which consisted of 3 power plants with approximately 2100 MW of capacity. Jeff managed multi-disciplinary teams responsible for establishing and executing long-range business and plant operational strategies including identification and origination of long term capacity, tolling, and other value enhancement contracts, as well as identifying expansion opportunities at existing Mirant plants. Additionally, Jeff Russell was responsible for all external affairs, government relations, regulatory affairs, and environmental affairs within California during their tenure as President of Mirant California LLC.

Jeff Russell received their MBA in finance from the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and their BA in computer science from Temple University.

They are on a team with Julian Bostic - Managing Director, Godfrey Gill - Managing Director, and Viet Nguyen - Managing Director. Jeff Russell reports to Greg Myers, Senior Managing Director, Global Head of Capital & Partner Solutions.
