Jacob Guggenheim has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Jacob is currently working at VistaPath Biosystems, where they hold the position of VP of Engineering since May 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Engineering at the same company from October 2019 to May 2021. Jacob's involvement with VistaPath Biosystems started in 2018 when they worked as a contractor from August 2018 to May 2019.
Before joining VistaPath Biosystems, Jacob worked as a Research Assistant at the Laboratory of Professor Harry Asada in MIT. During their time there, they contributed from August 2014 to October 2019. Additionally, they co-founded Rapid Aerial Search and Rescue, a company focused on aerial search and rescue operations, where they served as a Co-Founder from August 2016 to August 2018.
Jacob also has experience serving as a Multicultural Advocate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where they worked from August 2011 to May 2014. Jacob further gained experience as an Undergraduate Researcher at the Laboratory of Professor Robert Howe in Harvard from June 2013 to August 2013. Their early work experience includes an internship at Halcyon Molecular from May 2011 to August 2011.
Jacob Guggenheim earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they studied from 2010 to 2014. Jacob then pursued further education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where they obtained a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from 2014 to 2016. Jacob continued their studies at MIT and earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from 2016 to 2019.
