Derek Kurkiewicz

Derek Kurkiewicz is an experienced professional in the field of radiation protection, currently serving as Superintendent at Energy Harbor since April 2020, following a role as Supervisor in the same department. Prior experience includes several positions at FirstEnergy from June 2013 to April 2020, where Derek held the roles of Supervisor and Radiation Protection Technician. An ANSI 18.1 Qualified individual, Derek also completed an internship at FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company in 2012. Educational qualifications include an A.A.S. in Nuclear Engineering Technology from Lakeland Community College and a Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University, along with OSHA training. CPR and First Aid certified.
