Grant Carter

Grant Carter is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in risk management, financial planning, and corporate strategy, currently serving as Senior Director of Credit, Operational and Enterprise Risk at Vistra Corp. since 2010. Carter has successfully led enterprise risk management initiatives for Vistra's significant energy generation portfolio and retail business, optimized collateral processes during volatile market events, and coordinated crisis management responses. In prior roles, Carter played a pivotal role in the $20 billion merger between Vistra and Dynegy, driving substantial EBITDA and free cash flow benefits while ensuring smooth integration. Earlier experiences include key positions in financial planning at Luminant, as well as investment banking at Barclays Capital, with foundational analytical skills developed at Enron. Carter holds an MBA in Finance from Texas McCombs School of Business and dual undergraduate degrees in Finance and Economics from Southern Methodist University.
