Gregory D. Berg, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience in data science and analytics. Gregory D. is currently serving as the Senior Director of Decision Science & Advanced Analytics at Vistra Corp. Prior to this, they held the position of Vice President of Data Science at Caliber Home Loans, Inc. where they led and mentored a team of data scientists to develop and implement machine learning and econometric models. Gregory D. also updated the technology stack with cloud-based servers during their tenure.

Before joining Caliber Home Loans, Inc., Gregory held the role of Vice President of Data Science at GM Financial where they led the data science department and implemented advanced analytics strategies across various departments.

Gregory also has experience as the Vice President of Analytics at AxisPoint Health, where they led the analytics and research departments and implemented advanced analytics strategies using statistical tools. Gregory D. effectively communicated project value to non-technical executive teams and collaborated across business areas.

Prior to this, they worked at McKesson as the Associate Vice President of Analytics, where they managed multiple departments and designed observational and randomized trials. Gregory D. also served as a Senior Research Scientist at McKesson, leading the development and implementation of empirical testing and validation of health decision support products.

Gregory started their career as a Prevention Effectiveness Fellow at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where they designed and led economics and healthcare services modeling studies.

Gregory D. also worked as an Instructor at the University of Colorado.

Gregory D. Berg, Ph.D. holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Economics from the University of Colorado Boulder, which they obtained in 1998. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Economics from the same institution in 1996. Gregory D. also holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Economics from Colorado State University, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Cum Laude, in Economics from Colorado State University. In addition to their academic achievements, Gregory has obtained various certifications, including Data Scientist Professional with Python course track and Data Scientist with Python course track from DataCamp, Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification, SAS Certified Advanced Programmer, and SAS Certified Base Programmer.
