Shyam Hazari

Shyam Hazari has a strong background in storage and backup administration, with extensive experience working for various companies. Shyam began their career in 2000, working as a Storage/Backup and Unix Administrator for Qwest Communications and ExxonMobil. Shyam then moved on to Lanco Global Systems and Technology People Inc., where they served as a Storage and Backup Administrator for United Parcel Service (UPS). At Xtreme Worldwide Solutions, they worked as a Senior System and Storage Administrator for ProQuest Business Solutions. Shyam also worked at VLS Systems Inc as a Storage, Backup, and Unix Administrator, serving clients such as AIG, EMC Professional Services, and Dell Perot Systems. Shyam joined Randstad USA and later Randstand Technologies as a Senior Storage Engineer, providing storage implementation and support for Verizon's cloud and managed hosting customers. Shyam joined Verizon Enterprise Solutions as a Senior Storage Engineer before their division was acquired by IBM, where they continued in the same role. Currently, Shyam is working at Vistra Corp. as a Lead System Engineer (Platforms), where they manage storage (EMC, NetApp, Hitachi, HPE Nimble), backups (Commvault), and building automation scripts for day-to-day management of storage and compute infrastructure.

Shyam Hazari completed their Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University between 1988 and 1992. Shyam also obtained multiple certifications in AWS (Amazon Web Services) from AWS Elemental, an Amazon Web Services Company. These certifications include AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate, AWS Certified Developer - Associate, and AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, all obtained in late 2017.
