Markus Kauppinen began their education in 1986 at Orimattilan lukio. In 1989, they attended SNO to study Tourism and Travel Services. From 1992 to 1996, they attended Haaga Institute Polytechnic and received a Bachelor of Hotel and Restaurant Management. In 1997 and 1998, they attended Jyväskylä Polytechnic for Vocational teacher education. In 2004, they attended Cornell University for Professional Development Studies (PfP). Finally, from 2001 to 2008, they attended the University of Helsinki and earned an MSc in Political Science.
