Brianna Kalicharan, PhD has held various roles in research and leadership since 2013. In 2013, they began their undergraduate research at SUNY Geneseo, where they studied the role of fsd-1 in N. crassa during meiosis, and also worked as a ULI/ULA, developing course structure for General Biology Lab (BIOL 116) and administering grades for students. Brianna also wrote and received a grant proposal for the SUNY Geneseo Undergraduate Research Grant to study the colony structure of newly founded F. glacialis nests. In 2015, they earned their PhD in Pathology from the University of Rochester, where their work was in the musculoskeletal field. In 2019, they began working at the UofR Cell Therapy Manufacturing Facility as Facility Director, Interim Co-Director, and Manufacturing Manager. In 2020, they took on the role of TEAM-BMTD MS Program Director at the University of Rochester. In 2021, they became the Director of Manufacturing at Vita Therapeutics.
Brianna Kalicharan obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology, General from SUNY Geneseo between 2012 and 2015. Prior to that, they attended Genesee Community College from 2009 to 2012, where they studied Biology, General. In 2015, Brianna began a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Pathology at the University of Rochester and completed it in 2019. Brianna also holds a certification from URBEST.
