Shivaprasad Venkatesha

Principal Scientist at Vita Therapeutics

Shivaprasad Venkatesha has over 16 years of work experience in scientific research. Shivaprasad began their career in 2005 as a Faculty at Yuvarajas College, University of Mysore. Shivaprasad then served as a Research Fellow at the University of Mysore, Department of Studies in Biochemistry from 2005-2009. In 2009, they became a Faculty Research Associate and Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where they conducted research projects on microRNA regulation of pathological events associated with autoimmune-mediated diseases, liposome-based targeted delivery of biologics/drugs to treat target organ damage in autoimmunity and more. In 2018, they were appointed as a Scientist at The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine. Shivaprasad then moved to WindMIL Therapeutics in 2019 as a Principal Scientist, a role they currently hold at Vita Therapeutics.

Shivaprasad Venkatesha has a background in Biochemistry. Shivaprasad obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) from the University of Mysore between 2000 and 2003, majoring in Biochemistry, Botany and Microbiology. Shivaprasad then went on to receive a Master of Science (M.Sc.) from the University of Mysore between 2003 and 2005, also in Biochemistry. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Mysore between 2005 and 2009, again in Biochemistry.
