Job description

SUMMARY
Monitor and audit the quality of all manufactured parts. Determine the cause of defects found in inspected
parts and develop a solution to correct the defects. Provide statistical information for quality improvement
by identifying testing methods and samples.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop Inspection plans/guide drawings based on 3D Models using SolidWorks, NX or similar
modeling software.
Knowledge of CMM and PC-DIMIS for creating inspection plans.
Strong knowledge of relevant software, quality assurance methods, tools, and quality manufacturing
processes.
Developing corrective actions, solutions, and improvements.
Quality assurance of direct material including process assessment, process control plans, inspection plans,
and statistical data
Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing
processes.
Work closely with Production Engineering, Materials and Manufacturing to address issues and improve
the quality of the product.
Establish methods for improving Quality through the development and review of Standard Operating
Procedures.
Coordinate with external quality inspections to ensure compliance to customer specifications.
Develop sampling plans by applying attribute, variable, and sequential sampling methods.
Review and approve quality documentation to include but not limited to work routers, inspection plans,
blueprints.
Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data, making recommendations.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing
professional publications.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work
environment.
Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec International Standards Organization
(AS9100/ISO) policies and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

AS9100/ISO SPECIFIC DUTIES
Be familiar with and understand Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.
Understand required AS9100/ISO specific Procedures and Work Instructions.
Complete all records required by Procedures and Work Instructions.
Participate in Atec Improvement Machine (AIM) as appropriate.
Participate in AS9100/ISO training as required.
Cooperate with Auditors.
Report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree in a related field or 1-3 years of quality engineer experience or related quality job
function.
Working knowledge and application of SPC techniques (capability studies, trend analysis)
Strong attention to detail
Analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Good oral and written communication skills
Excellent organization skills with the ability to multiple-task and obtain results working within strict time
frames
Proficient in MS Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings and Specifications
Knowledge of operating measurement equipment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to work with electrical equipment and
occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.
Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Extended work hours and/or travel may occasionally be required.
