Karen Schmidt

Karen Schmidt has extensive experience in global health communication and consulting, currently serving as the Editorial Director and Senior Technical Advisor at Vital Strategies since 2013. In this role, Karen establishes editorial standards and oversees the quality of written content across the organization. Previous positions include Global Health Consultant in Tanzania, where Karen worked on health surveys, and Regional Communications Coordinator for the MDG Centre West at Columbia University, managing communications across multiple countries in Africa. With a strong background in health systems and behavior change communications, Karen has contributed to notable projects for organizations such as PATH and the Yale Center for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS.
