Spouzhmai Akberzai

Spouzhmai Akberzai is the Senior Program Coordinator on Global Network and Regional Engagement team at Vital Voices. In this role, she works with Afghanistan Urgent Assistance Fund and Afghanistan Crisis Response Team.

Prior to Vital Voices, Spouzhmai worked with CCDA, Migration and Refugee Services. She holds a BA (Hons) in Political Science and MSc in Politics and International Relations from the University of Delhi, India. Spouzhmai completed a fellowship (2021- 2022) with the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience (ICSC) on a Global initiative on Justice, Truth, and Reconciliation focusing on the feminist understanding of violence in the South Asian context. In 2021, she completed certification in Women, Peace, and Security and is an active member of the Afghan Women’s Network- a leading Organization advocating for women’s rights and empowerment. She is a Scholarship recipient of a Ph.D. in International Relations (2018) at South Asian University, established by SAARC in New Delhi, India.
