Prashant Tangirala

Prashant Tangirala has over 25 years of work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Prashant is currently the Vice President - Quality Operations at Vitane Pharmaceutical Pvt. Ltd., a position they have held since April 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Associate Vice President - Global Quality Operations at the same company, starting in December 2015. At Vitane Pharmaceutical, Prashant established the Quality function for global sites and implemented a Quality system as per 21 CFR 211 for the US Pharma packaging site. Prashant also handled budgeting, planning, and procurement of QC equipment for various labs.

Before joining Vitane Pharmaceutical, Prashant worked at MSD Animal health for over 10 years, starting in April 2004. Prashant held the position of Head, Quality Control Operations and MPS Lead, where they established and managed the Quality Control Laboratory. Prashant also played a key role in transferring QC testing operations to the Indian site and was responsible for batch release, audit compliance, stability studies, and method validation.

Prior to MSD Animal health, Prashant worked at Wockhardt Ltd. as a Scientist QA from October 2002 to March 2004. Before that, they were employed at Dr. Reddy's Laboratories as a Sr. Executive in the Biotech Division from July 2000 to September 2002. In this role, they handled regulatory affairs, supported business development, and assisted the US team in document preparation.

Prashant's career in the pharmaceutical industry started at Wockhardt Foundation in December 1994, where they served as a Senior Research Associate in the Department of Biotechnology until June 2000. During their time at Wockhardt Foundation, they worked on the Recombinant Human Erythropoietin project, established QC testing, and developed an in-house ELISA kit.

Prashant Tangirala obtained a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, General from Doctor Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University in 1989-1992. Prashant then pursued a Master's degree in Biotechnology from the same university, although the specific start and end years are not provided. Prashant later enrolled in Sikkim Manipal University - Distance Education, where they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Total Quality Management from 2013-2015.

In addition to their formal education, Prashant Tangirala has obtained several certifications throughout their career. Prashant achieved a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification from Exemplar Global, Inc. in 2018. In 2017, they completed an Executive diploma in pharmaceutical regulatory affairs from the Institute of Good Manufacturing Practices India (IGMPI). Prashant also holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (ICGB) certification from Benchmark Six Sigma in 2008. Furthermore, they obtained an International Business Class English (Vantage) certification from the British Council in 2007, and an Intellectual Property management certification from Dr. Reddy's Laboratories in 2002.
