Sky Brubaker, PhD has extensive work experience in the field of preclinical research and academia. They are currently serving as the Associate Director and Head of Preclinical Research at VitriVax, where they lead a team in developing assays for in vivo product characterization, specifically focused on the safety, efficacy, and durability of VitriVax ALTA™ vaccines in a small animal model. Prior to this role, they held the position of Sr. Scientist and Head of Preclinical Research at VitriVax.
Before joining VitriVax, Sky Brubaker worked as an Instructor at Stanford University from 2017 to 2020 where they developed and implemented a curriculum for a graduate-level course on writing research fellowships. They also provided guidance and feedback to students on their applications.
From 2014 to 2020, Sky Brubaker served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Stanford University School of Medicine, focusing on research in an undisclosed field.
Prior to their time at Stanford, they obtained their Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunobiology as a Graduate Research Fellow at Harvard University from 2008 to 2014. During this time, they conducted research in the Division of Medical Science at Harvard Medical School.
Additionally, in 2011 to 2013, Sky Brubaker worked as a Teaching Fellow at Harvard University Extension School, providing instructional support to students. They also gained experience as a Staff Research Associate at UC Berkeley from 2006 to 2008.
Sky Brubaker, PhD received a Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, from 2002 to 2006. Later, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Microbiology and Immunology at Harvard University, completing their studies from 2008 to 2014.
