Sharla White

Director, Cell Biology at VitroLabs

Sharla White is the current Director of Cell Biology at VitroLabs. Prior to their current position, they were the Vice President of Research and Development at ClearLight Biotechnologies, LLC from January 2021 to July 2022. Sharla was also the Director of Research & Development at ClearLight Biotechnologies, LLC from March 2019 to January 2021. In their previous positions, they were responsible for leading R&D evaluation of the clearing and staining platform development, 3D spatial analysis software development, and the optimization and implementation of new methodologies and technologies. Sharla also oversaw all laboratory management activities, including safety training and compliance with state, local, and company policies, purchasing lab equipment and consumables, and managing department budgets, inventories, and SOPs. In addition, they led the in-house lab service department through development of custom collaborative research projects, implementation of experiments, and timely completion of projects and deliverables to customers. Sharla White has a passion for engaging and communicating with customers to design and develop projects that address their research needs and proposals.

Sharla White received their Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis. Sharla then went on to earn their Doctorate of Philosophy in Pharmacognosy from the University of Illinois Chicago. After completing their postdoctoral work in Vascular Immunology at Stanford University, they became certified by the California Life Sciences in "From the Laboratory to Leadership."

Sharla White reports to Ingvar Helgason, CEO & Co-Founder. They work with François Saïx - Chief Product Officer, Shrutika Mehta - Associate Director, Bioprocess, and Alexia Krispin - Chief Operating Officer.
