Lisa Hornung

Lisa Hornung has over 8 years of work experience in data analytics, research, and project management. Lisa started out in 2011 as a Project Assistant at the German Hiking Association, where they were responsible for fundraising, planning and conducting workshops, and initiating marketing activities. In 2012, they joined the University of Kassel as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant, where they were responsible for data management and support of a project leader, delivering and conducting seminars, and mentoring students' scientific research projects. In 2013, they joined Kaplan International English as a Research Scientist and Data Analyst, where they were responsible for supporting senior management with scientific evidence and recommendations, scientific monitoring of before- and after-effects, design and application of KPIs, evaluation frameworks, and research studies. In 2016, they joined NCVO as a Data and Research Manager, Senior Researcher, and Researcher, where they were responsible for leading on the NCVO Almanac, managing a project team, overseeing the organisation of technical aspects of the project, completing ad-hoc data enquiries, developing and implementing a strategy to improve the use of social media, and supporting multiple projects. Finally, in 2021, Lisa joined Vivacity Labs as a Data Insight Lead and Rocket Science UK Ltd as a Data Analytics Lead, where they were responsible for leading the development of data analytics and data visualisation, building data skills within the company, advising and supporting the adoption of appropriate analytic and visualisation software and tools, developing and delivering a data analytics strategy and data road map, and building and maintaining a database.

Lisa Hornung obtained their Bachelor's degree in Social Work from the University of Kassel in 2012. Lisa then completed their Master's degree in Empirical Education Research from the University of Kassel in 2015. In 2020, they obtained an Introduction to Data Science in Python certification from Coursera. In 2021, they obtained an Information Visualization: Programming with D3.js certification from Coursera. Finally, they obtained a UX & UI Design Fundamentals certification from The School of UX in 2022.
