Marc Hermans

Marc Hermans has extensive work experience in the field of information technology and security. Marc started their career as a Technical Consultant at Mendez in 1996 and later worked as a Junior Developer at the Ministère de l'éducation nationale, de la jeunesse et de la vie associative in 1997. Marc then joined the Association centrale de la Santé animale as a System Engineer from July 1997 to December 1998. Marc then moved to VIVAQUA, where they held various roles including Helpdesk Support Specialist from 1999 to 2002, System Engineer from 2002 to 2008, Information Technology Operations Manager from 2008 to 2019, Information Technology Security Manager from 2019 to 2020, and currently serves as the Chief Information Security Officer.

Marc Hermans obtained a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from IEPS Uccle in the year 1996. Prior to that, they attended Université libre de Bruxelles from 1989 to 1992, where they focused on Kinesiotherapy/Kinesiotherapist. From 1976 to 1989, Marc studied at Athénée Robert Catteau, specializing in ESS HUM LAT-MAT. In addition to their formal education, Marc also holds certifications such as ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer from PECB, obtained in November 2016, and MCSE 2000 + Messaging from Microsoft, obtained in April 2003.
