Phil Worboys

Phil Worboys has a strong background in translational science and pharmaceutical research. Phil is currently the Senior Vice President of Translational Science at Vividion Therapeutics, Inc., a position they have held since July 2023. Prior to this, they were the Head of Translational Science at Sapient from December 2021 to July 2023.

Before joining Sapient, Phil held various senior leadership roles at Theravance Biopharma US, Inc. from 2008 to 2021. These positions included Senior Vice President of Research and Translational Science, where they led the Medicinal Chemistry, Biology-Pharmacology, and Translational Science functions. Phil also served as Senior Vice President of Translational Science, overseeing the progression of drug candidates into clinical studies and managing DMPK, Clinical Pharmacology, Non Clinical Safety, and Project Management functions. Prior to that, Phil held roles as Vice President of Clinical Pharmacology and DMPK, as well as Vice President of DMPK.

Before joining Theravance Biopharma, Phil worked as a Senior Director of DMPK at Hoffmann-La Roche from 2005 to 2008, and as a Senior Director of DMPK at Pfizer from 2003 to 2005. Phil began their career as a Scientist at Merck Sharp & Dohme from 1996 to 2001.

Phil Worboys earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Imperial College London from 1988 to 1991. Phil continued their education at The University of Manchester, where they obtained a PhD in Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics from 1992 to 1995.
