Maria C. Trujillo

Director of Community Partnerships, Programs and Interpretation at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens

Maria C. Trujillo has a diverse work experience spanning from 2009 to 2022. In 2009, they worked as a Performer for Rirkrit Tiravanija Performance at the Galerie Chantal Crousel during Art Basel. Maria C. also worked as an Intern- Art Sales at the Beppu Wiarda Art Gallery. From 2009 to 2012, Maria worked at the University of Florida as a Teaching Assistant and Art Administrator. In 2011, they were a Second Grade Teacher at Brentwood Elementary School. From 2012 to 2014, Maria worked at the University of Florida as a Curator of Dialogue Space. In 2014, they began working at the Wolfsonian-FIU as an Education Program Manager. From 2016 to 2019, Maria worked at the Pérez Art Museum Miami as a Manager of Gallery and Studio Programs. In 2019, they began working at the Denver Art Museum as an Interpretive Specialist. Maria is currently the Director of Community Partnerships, Programs and Interpretation at the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, a position they have held since 2022. Additionally, they are the Founder and Author of Histart Press, a role they have held since 2013.

Maria C. Trujillo's education history includes a Masters degree in Art History from the University of Florida, which they obtained between 2009 and 2011. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelors degree in Art History from Florida International University between 2005 and 2009. Maria C. also obtained a High School Diploma from International School Nido de Aguilas in 2005. Additionally, they participated in a Study Abroad Program in San Gemini, Italy from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, focusing on Art Conservation.
