Simon Claus

Simon Claus is an experienced project manager and expert in smart data, currently leading projects at Digitaal Vlaanderen that focus on IoT and sensor data applications across various sectors since October 2021. Previously, Simon served as a project leader at the ICT Innovation Lab of VDAB, where responsibilities included supervising ICT projects utilizing artificial intelligence and machine learning for job placement from February 2019 to October 2021. Simon held the role of Program Manager Datacentre at the Flanders Marine Institute from February 2004 to January 2019, overseeing data and information management within oceanographic and marine research. Early career experience includes a position as a project assistant for photo-interpretation and satellite imaging at EUROSENSE in 2003. Academic credentials include a Master’s in Oceanography from the University of Liège and a Master’s in Biology from KU Leuven, complemented by a program at Cambridge Judge Business School in 2019-2020.
